NTSC stands for the National Television System(s) Committee and was an industry-wide standardization body created in 1940 by the FCC and introduced a nation-wide analog television system for the United States. The standard was lateradopted by many American, Asian and Pacific countries.
PAL stands for Phase Alternating Line, or Phase Alternation Line. It is a color encoding system developed in Germany by Walter Bruch, working at Telefunken, and first introduced in 1967. |
